Trace Elliot Elf 200-watt Micro Bass Head Review

  1. How long before they start making these putting out 4-600 watts? If these are practical can y'all imagine the convenience?
Trace Elliot® Introduces ELF Bass Amplifier every bit Industry's Smallest, Most Powerful Solution

Weighing just i.6 pounds, this revolutionary amp is modest enough to fit in your dorsum pocket. The ELF's remarkable applied science and size make it the most portable, gig-worthy bass amplifier ever fabricated. It'due south an ideal solution for whatever bassist who is concerned with size and weight, but isn't willing to compromise on tone or performance.
Designed in the U.M. and the U.S., the ELF produces a solid, fan-cooled 200 continuous watts RMS at 4 ohms.

  2. Looks good.

  3. I dont think you lot could sit comfortably with that thing in your pocket. (The amp I hateful).
  4. Will the purchase of an ELF include the pictured roadie?
  5. When I saw this in a music trade mag, my first thought was that'due south a cool look & it's prolly the smallest amp I've seen except for the little GK 200. The ad didn't mention watts & subsequently looking it up, constitute that it's only 200 Westward, and like GRRG63, I immediately thought the same thing - how long earlier "they" make something this modest with more juice? Forget about 400-600, how most 800 - 1000W? I guess it really depends on the class D power supply MFRs - every bit soon as they can shrink it, we'll take even smaller amps. I saw Water ice @ NAMM and they take a new 1200W module, but it's not pocket-size - information technology looked similar information technology was sixteen" to 18" wide.

The new super small 200w Trace Elliot caput, combined with their 2x8 or 1x10 cab, is going to make for ane heck of a super micro rig!

  7. I'm super-curious about the 2x8. Still nothing on the website... :/
  8. Cheers for the comments - I' 1000 the GM of Product Development and worked on the Trace Project. Just a couple quick answers to some of the questions. The 200W is RMS - most competitors are rating their small amps at programme / tiptop. The 200 watts in this amp volition bulldoze two very large 8 ohm cabs and would embrace 80% of most gig requirements. I'chiliad a bass player myself so I paid special attention to this projection. The 2X8 cab is astonishing we are using some Italian speakers in this design that really blew me away. It sounds like a real bass amp and you tin elevator it with two fingers. ii of these 2X8 cabs together sound better than near 410 cabs. Can't wait for y'all to be able to check them out in the stores. Nosotros are very excited to relaunch the sound of Trace in this extremely portable package. And NO the roadie does not come with the amp :)

  9. Cheers for the info. Any plans for a college wattage model?
  10. practice you accept any specs on the cabs?
  11. hmmmmmm maybe :)
  12. If you are looking for curves - I don't have them just yet - we were going back and forth on what speakers to utilise until the concluding minute - Merely I'll postal service them here when I get them. The 2X8 can handle 400watts continuous ...200Watts to each of the eight" speakers (that is a lot of power for an 8"). The 10" has an angled baffle in it and will handle 200 Watts. Yous'll love them, can't wait for you to check them out...I'll become you more than detail soon. They should at to the lowest degree exist on the website in the adjacent couple days -

  13. Fred,

Admittedly thrilled to meet Trace make a heck of a splash! It sounds similar the preamps, head, and cabs put the brand dorsum on a lot of bass shoppers' radars!

Eagerly looking forward to seeing what else you guys have in the works! (I'm crossing my fingers for a 12-band, 2-ohm stable, class D head at some point).

  14. Fred, whatsoever word on European/Great britain availability?? Applies to the Transit preamp equally well...
  15. I see that Sweetwater has, ahem, adjusted the retail price from their initial listing of $1,399.00.

I suspected that pre-guild disbelieve was to skilful to be true.

  16. Is there an MSRP on said roadie?
  17. Should be all shipping globally the get-go half of this twelvemonth.
  18. We made sure all of them sound like the original Trace. In fact nosotros included the Pre-Shape characteristic on the Transit-B for that specific purpose. At present the preamp pedal obviously has more EQ than the ELF, and has the ability to adjust the traditional multi-band compression. That being said the ELF is Trace Elliot through and through.
